School Year 2020 – 2021

The school year 2020/2021 was a difficult and interesting year for Concept for Change and the HVG. Planning the program with the uncertainty of the pandemic was certainly an additional challenge, more flexibility was needed. On the other hand, it offered new opportunities to get other school classes engaged and planning sessions outside regular school hours.

The focus for the school year was to continue with the International Communication program for the CertiLingua Class and to trial the Local-Global Learning program.

Local-Global Learning

As trail of the “Local-Global Learning Program” is Concept for Change arranged two sessions which support the school curriculum of the bi-lingual class to learn about Australia and Nigeria. With these sessions it was possible to get a better connection between the students and the countries they learned about.

CertiLingua Class – International Communication

Concept for Change and the HVG conducted five dedicated interview session for the 2020/2021 CertiLingua class. With an in-class introduction session by Rafael, founder of Concept for Change, the foundation was set for the following four video interview session. The challenges of the pandemic ware leading to changes how the interviews were executed. Instead of having the students together in the classroom, they were either participating from multiple rooms or from their home. This was a new experience and opened the possibility to arrange interviews even outside school hours.

School Year 2019 – 2020

In 2019 Concept for Change started for the first time to talk and work directly with the CertiLingua class of the HVG together, to define how Concept for Change can support the school and students. The idea: providing the interview concept to the entire class and not just to a single student.

CertiLingua Class – International Communication

The “CertiLingua Class Program & Interviews” is the first dedicated program, to support the language program of the school. The aim of the program is to bring the students of the CertiLingua class together with business professionals from around the globe for an interview. These interviews provide an opportunity to the students to speaking English and to learning from the people interviewed..

To be able to successfully run interviews though video conferencing, Concept for Change provided some basic video conferencing equipment to the school, as well as supporting the students to prepare the interviews.

It turned out to be a great initiative, with five interviews in that school year and great learnings for the class and Concept for Change.

A student volunteered to plan and organize with the support of Concept for Change a Playmobil Donation at the school. The collected items were used by Concept for Change for children workshops and activities, e.g. Stop Motion Workshops and Holiday Programs.

Many thanks to the Students and School for the donation and support on organizing such initiative.
