My Story
My Challenge
Good day!
I signed up to join the West Africa Cycle Challenge in May/June 2019! I will ride a bicycle for 300km in 5 days through Sierra Leone in Africa and need your support, as I ride for fundraising for two great organizations: Concept for Change and Street Child. Support me to support them!
I am a 44 year young German/Australian, who used to do a lot of sports a long time ago, basically every day for several hours. I was even a certified Volleyball coach. But now … I have not done any real sports since more than 15 years!!! The only activities I did are a few days skiing and snowboarding in winter, short walks or some casual hiking in summer to enjoy the nature, and sometimes going on a short casual walk or bike ride with my family. This is not much or good, right? ... Therefore I am planning to train prior to the challenge. I will cycle at least on 50 days with a total of 2.000 km at a minimum.
With this West Africa Cycle Challenge I like to proof to myself that I am still able to do sports and proper training as preparation, and at the same time do something great in the world by supporting Concept for Change and Street Child in their activities – local and abroad. I like to learn from the challenge, from the people I meet throughout this journey, to take their stories and learn from them, share them together with my experiences with you and everyone around the globe, hoping to change something in our world and in people life’s.
Many thanks to all of you for your support in advance and a special thanks to Street Child, who is planning and organizing the West Africa Cycle Challenge – THANK YOU!
Please support me by giving generously and feel free to share my story!
Cheers
Rafael
