Study support 9th grade: Australia


Learning about Australia is part of the curriculum of the 9th grade of the HVG. The teacher and Concept for Change agreed that it is a great opportunity to connect the class with someone from Australia via a video conference. During that session, the students can apply and practice their English skills, while learning more about Australia from Patrick Mau alias Mau Power, an indigenous Australian.

Interview: Patrick Mau alias Mau Power

Mau Power is a hip hop artist from Thursday Island in the Torres Strait, the first Australian rapper to tour from this region. He was performing during the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games 2018 and is also the founder and executive director of One Blood Hidden Image, the first Torres Strait independent record distribution label, film production and media company.

Interviews with Business Professionals


Student from the Certilingua language program get the opportunity to talk and interview business professionals from around the globe.

The goal of the interviews is more than just speaking in foreign language. The students need to do research on the interview partners and their profession and prepare themselves the interviews. Of course Concept for Change is supporting with information, links, and guidence. On the other hand, this is a great opportunity for the students to learn from different people, with different nationalities, backgrounds, professions, and life experiences.

Dr Shalini Malhotra is the Founder and Director of “NeeV”, a learning centre for the under-served in India. She holds a doctorate in Environmental Studies and started this initiative with the belief that educating children and helping them grow to understand and appreciate their environment was as important as working on its conservation.
